This story is told from the perspective of a grandmother who lives just a few minutes away from her granddaughter. Due to the pandemic, she cannot even go see her granddaughter on her birthday.

My granddaughter's third birthday happened last week, but due to the coronavirus, my husband and I were not able to attend her birthday party. She lives in the same city as me, and knowing how close she was but only being able to wish her on her special day through a phone was a difficult moment.

Hearing her laughter through the phone made us so happy, but seeing her face through a virtual screen and not in front of us made us sad. Hopefully in a few weeks we will be able to see her again in person and give her the birthday party she deserves from us.
