This story is told from the perspective of a grandmother who is not allowed to visit her blind mother during the pandemic.

I can't sleep. I wake up several times in the night, worrying about my mother. She lives alone and is blind. The police here in India won't let me visit her because it is not essential or an emergency. It is frustrating when she lives only 20 minutes away and I have to cross a "border" which the government won't let me do. She has a nurse who takes care of her but I am still worried. This is the longest I have gone without seeing her when I live in India.
